Leisure Suit Larry

Posted by Shiva (Kajang, Malaysia) on 20 March 2007 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

Yeah.. a friend i met while holidaying at the Highlands.. shy fella.. took himself sometime to come out before we met and went to the pub together.

Mr.Larry is about 0.4 cm in size and is sitting at the tip of the cow grass. The cow grass is about 1.2 cm long! This is how small Mr. Larry is compared to his significantly infinitely colossal surroundings.

Hi guys!, After contemplating for so long, I have finally decided to put out my images for sale in my own photo sales site. Please visit http://www.e-ttl.com to view the site and if you see anything you like, let me know. This is a " Truly Malaysian" site that sells images from Malaysia.

So, I officially pronounce my site open for sales!! Thousands of thanks to aminus3 members and web owners to be a good friend and a true compatriot in photography to all budding photographers to be able to display their works in a blog format for free. I truly salute the aminus3 team for being very kind and humane to all of us. I wish you all the greatest of success.

Thank you.

Shiva

Great grab. I love the colors, and the subject is nice and sharp. Did you use a lensbaby or photoshop for some of the depth-of-field? Too bad some of the darker greens are so noisy. Love it overall. Saludos.

@Justin Haaheim: Hello Justin! Glad u like this pic. Actually this picture is only about 584K ,. a far cry from its original size. So when you view it at this resolution, it tends to be slightly less in quality, but never theless a great size to upload it into the aminus3 server.

There is no photoshop or lensbaby on this pic or any other macro shots. The 100mm macro lens will give excellent blurs all the time! Try it sometime ::)

Shuva from Hyderabad, India

You got some sharp focus. Does Mr Larry have 3 eyes?

20 Mar 2007 7:26am

@Shuva: Shuva! LOL.. he has 4 actually.. except he was moving in circles following my lens.. I suppose he was trying to tell me something....

Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), Germany

Richard_Irwin from Belper, United Kingdom

Great macro, hard to get right, but you did it very well indeed

20 Mar 2007 7:55pm

@Richard_Irwin: You are right Richard.. Macro work in the wild is very very hard and tiring.. imagine.. i didnt even use a tripod for any of the shots! It is just pure guess work and intuition.

Sarah from Lexington, United States

kaveh from TEHRAN, Iran

congrats!! i love your macro shots, all of them are wonderful and professional.

Amir from Iran said this: "the macro shot is beautiful. especially the simple and empty background of object are effective. i will be glad if you write comments for my shots."

21 Mar 2007 11:53pm

@kaveh: HEhehe... And maybe with a bit of luck on my side.. macro shots using macro lenses are too hard to be done when you are not using any tripod... Thanks Kaveh!
